can you see me on this cliff so high
I hear everyone screaming
for me to come down
heck, that’d be no fun
whots fun don’t you know
is gittin’ up here
where nobody else wants to go
so!
climb this rocky cliff
shake my hand
you!
Bobby, come on up, you’re my bestest fried
now we’ll both jump
whot
yew don’t wanna jump
with me
whot’s a good friend for
is good for yew
don’t-ya think
oh, no you don’t think that way
I see
you just wanna see me SPLAT
on the ground
to hurt me, my friend
whose been sneaking around|
with my girlfriend

“noooo!” back pedaling for all he was worth
he watched his best friend
slip on some rocks near the edge
fall and plunge below
he had a grin on his face
it worked out just like it was supposed to
he turned
back-tracked to a little known path
started climbing down
by the time he toched ground
he had his mouth fixed in a grimace
tears in his eyes
and met those who greeted him
with as much phony sadness as he could muster
when he wanted to shout
hallelujah!
works for me

Enjoyed your play on words, the invention and mostly, the honesty re: friends. As the saying goes, we're lucky to find we have 5 friends at anytime of our lives. All the rest are acquaintances and necessary relationships for the often abused need to connect.

Sometimes the best of friends can turn out to be the worst of friends.
