Out Of Harm's Way

Life paused,
As a few seconds ticked away,
Like slow motion years,
And everything slowed down,
As I willed to shout,
And nothing left my lips,
I willed to run and dash,
And my legs stood still,
Unable to shake in fear,
As my brain found difficulty,
To comprehend the danger,
Of knowing my child,
Stood next to a kidnapper,
And God only could save,
Innocent gullible children,
Too naive and unaware,
That evil lurks out there,
Under our very noses,
As we pray for those,
To be out of harm's way.

I can resonate with this. It's shaking. We pray for guidance and protection from evil.

As a parent, myself, this idea is absolutely horrifying. Think I'll join you in that prayer.

We should pray for those to be out of harm's way.

Great write... came here because of the title, but leave here, praying for children everywhere...

When reading this, words fall off the tongue in slow motion.
Children are fragile beings, even more so at the hands of evil.

I join you in that prayer. Well said.
