Sometimes we sit and wonder,
Me and my friends from younger.
We grew up abroad in a country,
Where everyone originated
From a different nationality.
We always enjoyed the diversity,
And celebrated with respect
The culture and ethnicity,
That everyone was different,
Yet the same and coherent.
But we had to admit,
That it was difficult,
Not nowing where we fit.
Where were we from?
What had we become?
A quest that still lays ahead,
To be answered,sufficed and said.

Respecting each other's differences--that's the constant struggle. Excellent!

We should all be like ingredients in a recipe. we should combine to make a more interesting and enjoyable world. Yet there are times, often, when we all ask ourselves these questions. Especially when we are met with hostility. We should learn, assimulate and evolve to become a better unique human being. Good poem!

I can really relate to your words, considering my background. Always just be yourself, culture, ethnicity, religion ect. are just part of the total picture. It is you it is I it is all of us just being who we are reserving judgements and just letting everyone be themselves. ~Z~

I think we all do.
