In Your Arms

I wrote the following poem for my husband Phil before we were married.


 

 

 

We snuggled in the bed

And held each other tight

Listening to love songs

All through the night

And as the sweet music

Permeated my ears

It took all I had

Not to shed a few tears

For the love that I felt

In those moments with you

Was stronger than anything

I ever knew.

Like the mourning dove

With its forever mate,

I have found true love

And I cannot wait

‘Til the day you and I

Become husband and wife

And within your arms,

I’ll spend the rest of my life.
