Frozen

Have you tried to scream Within a dream But terror won’t come out? You’re froze with fear And danger’s near. A whisper is your shout. You’re hypnotized And paralyzed And don’t know what to do. What is the deal? Could this be real? It seems like it is true . You try to run. Your legs are done As though you’re in a web. You retry a shout; A scream rings out, And you wake within your bed. Relief you feel, It wasn’t real-- 'Twas a nightmare in your head.

Scary for sure, and definitely not an enjoyable way to wake up.
It was a good subject for a poem, though.
