the devil danced around me
he clapped his hands in conquering glee
and summoned all the right people to shower me
with their love and intellectual prowess
with their gifts of alternative thinking
foggy smoke filled rooms where conversations
were incantations of demonic whispers
encapsulated in all manner of intoxicants
circles formed and candles burned while
mysterious flutters filled our hands
my dreams came with beauty and bliss
floating gloriously in peace and light until
illumination transformed into malevolent twisted faces
sucking my soul and life into the evil place
sounds of an animal not of this earth
were heard coming from my mouth
echoing into black night rooms of frightened children
books by castaneda and jung
ideas from limited human minds held awe and adoration
seth speaks devoured me page by page
and extracted suicidal thoughts
meditations and illusions fed the flame of death
so i vanished while sitting in my chair
i felt myself leaving relinquishing my soul
until suddenly my spirit was deposited back into reality
and my eyes stared into the awesome rescuing face
of God
A frantic, frenzied write which PERFECTLY fit the subject matter...quite a "dark side experience" but fortunately the light at the end of the dark tunnel was the brightness of His face. Amazing bit of prose.
Janet this is mesmerizing and awesome work! I'm in awe of how you captured the dark unholy event which is so seductive, when it entices us into the dance, and your finale is perfect! I'm truly impressed with this gem, into my library it goes! Kudo's my friend!

Holy Moly, Janet! Ya getting deep around old AD these days. Good stuff, and I liked how you worked all the icons of the strange into this. P.S.: Yep, I'm fast. First too.
Finally! Understand and learn from the New Testament Book of John.
