BIRTH Painful summer. No carefree breeze to end the plight of restless nights. Twilight captures time until it is as gradual as a lake stilled by absent wind. Persevering with things made and gifts given. readying the room. A fan stirs the mobile and a gentle song plays a welcoming refrain. First born calls and she is broken. �
