She Danced

A little ditty about going to school in the city and making ends meet.

She came from a small town in Ohio
Went straight to the city of Chicago
.........and she danced
         how she danced

Went there to get her an education
Her head got filled up with information
.........and she danced
         yeah she danced

She danced down on Rush Street
The money was so sweet
She danced in a cage
For it was the rage
Lord, she danced

When she came back home the town looked so small
Went back to the city she heard it's call
.........and she danced
         got romanced
         oh she danced

Good that you can dance in such
a manner it also pays you well...

Rather reminds me of Elton Johns Tiny dancer..

Lovely journey through a life filled with dreams and a life passion. I love the repetition of "she danced" - filled with grace like the art itself :)

You bet she danced, got romanced and ne'er was the same again. I saw her on Bourbon Street, Naw'leans and she dance, oh boy did she forevermore dance.
