You are not your past. You are what you choose to do with it.

Poem Artwork

Thinking of all that I've been through
Thankful it has no bearing on
The person who I am today
For I have choices I can make

The path I've chosen is far from
The one that others thought I'd choose
Each new dawn brings new ponderings
Along with mindful wonderings

It's said that pain spurs growth to those
Who learn from it to their own good
Not leaning on excuses from
The past that "made" who I've become

"I think therefore I am." so true
Not thinking as I used to do
A different person I became
Although I still retain my name

Past choices, present choices, future choices...
All make up the unique life we are now living...
And each new day we have the chance to make more...
When you really think and get your head around it...
It's amazing how everyone's life comes together..
My Dad decided to go out with my Mother by the toss of a coin initially!
I'm so thankful for that 'choice'...!
Love,
Diana...

Sometimes others try to tell us what we should be and what we should be doing. It is up to use to chose our path in life. So very well said here

Revenge provides satisfaction. It gives you an opportunity to not feel helpless or no control of your destiny. Very good write, Jane.

To use the past as a crutch,
is weak and wrong.
What's past is past,
use it to make you strong.

I just don't understand how anyone can make a decision with a hole in the head. You are an amazing gal, Jane. Luv ya too. Keep on truckin'.

Yes, a bit of wisdom here. Our choices build who we are. We could have chosen something different, but didn't. We call it the road of our own destiny. John

I can understand, I think, that change in you. It had to be. You have gone through so much, and are still going through it. But this new person you have become, I believe still retains some of the Jane of old!
