This was written by Jason Coons, a dear friend of the family, who is in prison for making a mistake. He is a kind and gentle person. We love him.
A cold grey sea a cold grey sky
And leafless swaying boughs
A wind that wanders sadly by
And moans about the house
And in my lonely heart a cry
For days that went before
For days that fly and hopes that die
And the past that comes no more
I HEAR THE HOPELESSNESS...I KNOW IT, I'VE HEARD IT BEFORE. AND SO I SAY WHAT I HAVE SAID BEFORE; HOLD YOUR HEAD UP, THERE IS A GOD AND HE HAS NOT FORGOTTEN YOU. REMEMBER TO PRAY AND KNOW THAT YOU'RE LOVED. TOMORROW WILL COME...YOU CAN GO ON AND MEET IT WITH FAITH AND HOPE. STAY OUT OF TROUBLE, I LOVE YOU. THANKS FOR SHARING, JANE. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Tell Jason that his poem is more about the winter of his life than the winter as a season.
Unfortunately, our private, political bound, judge, lawyer, law, prison system traps individuals, sometimes into lifelong imprisonment for mistakes that should be merely served as public service or some other more meaningful and rewarding punishment.
What insight Jason Coons pen has writ, Jane. Looking back upon a man's life through prison bars is horrific, to say the very least. Wishing the very best for him.
I could feel that cold wind going right through me as I read this excellent winter write. I don't know if Jason has written much poetry, but he should be encouraged to write more. It's always good therapy for anyone.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
Hope is always on the horizon.
Wind blows sadness away and
bring forth changes in your heart.
HE, who will hold your hand,
will emerge you from the darkness.
