Escape was what I sought I guess
Three older brothers what a mess
Stepped I into another time
Another's life dif'rent from mine

No I shan't give the plot away

I've never read Jane Eyre, but I've been reading books for as long as I can remember. And the good ones are always worth coming back to, and reading them again and again. Enjoyed your poem today.
What a sweet poem. I love the way you have rhymed it. Your poem reminds me of my own early teenaged days, when I enjoyed reading novels. In fact, it was one of my best pastimes.
Well, small wonder. The book is so beautifully written. I have also started reading at a very young and continue to do so. I always read two books at a time, one of them modern, another a classic. I am reading Middlemarch now and have been for the last few months. It's rather long. Great inspiration.
