I wrote this as I looked at pictures of my great grands all holding my daughter, the grandmother's finger.

Poem Artwork

Her touch remembered lovingly
Reflection love shared so gently
Grandmother's heart so full of pride
Holding a special place inside

More babies come her love grows so
Her touch that grasp not letting go
A trust felt by the little babe
A lasting trust that "touch" has made

Baby will grow the trust will too
Grandmother's love holy and true
Her touch faithful and always there
A hug a kiss sweet smelling hair

Watching grandchildren grow to be
Living lives individually
Interests varied but so much
Remembering.. vague memory..her touch

WE GREATLY UNDERESTIMATE THE VALUE OF A 'TOUCH', IN WHATEVER WAY... BUT ESPECIALLY A GRANDMA'S TOUCH. COULD BE JUST A WORD, A SONG OR A GESTURE, BUT IT'S REMEMBERED...HOPEFULLY...FOREVER. GREAT WORK HERE, MY FRIEND. I'M GOING TO KEEP THIS, THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

You post your best poetry while you're not paying attention.
How cool is that?

The mothers bond to her child goes far beyond that, embracing children and great-grandchildren. You are so lucky to have experienced all of those generation. There's nothing like the reassurance of holding onto the finger of someone you trust. Love personified.

Next to God’s love is a mother’s love. I suppose dads and papaws have to duke it out over who’s next in line. I loved rocking my sons and grandsons—their little hand wrapped around my forefinger as they slept peacefully. This is such a nice poem.

The image has such potent symbolic value and complements the poem beautifully. Such lovely sentiments.
