Accentuating the Negative…

We always seem to receive and offer positive,

Giving what we get back ten fold,

While that is all well and good,

Does it produce better poetry in the end?

Or are we just trying to our friends not offend…?

So if I was negative in my suggestions,

Would you think me callous towards you?

As for me, I find myself rather pachydermatous,

I can take or leave the negative without pain and anguish…

How are you with negative opinions?

Statements made from those we feel are beneath us ignored,

These many thousands of uncouth minions,

They have no power over us, our writings being our own rewards…

Positive & negative, prose & cons, yin and yang,

We all give and take, and hopefully we do so with nothing fake,

We can do so for whomever without a guilty pang,

As long as we are able and willing to receive in return,

A statement, review or comment that may our precious ego’s shake…
