Poem Artwork

Tis’ madness that does creep in,

This madness of past sin,

Attracted to that which he cannot possess,

Past pain that he would need eventually to confess…

A fear has overcome him,

His past does overwhelm him,

His mind does tell him its wrong,

His desires do pressure him to follow the whim…

That which he desires runs rampant,

Unable is he to turn away,

There is no fear of an unknown,

His desires are all to well, by him known…

Deep, profound, and outstanding. Were you reading my mind or just reflecting light from "his" onto mine?

Wishing you, Rene and Woofie a blessings-filled new year!

In Buddhism, we believe that our desires cause suffering. I feel this intensely when reading this work. If you satisfy this desire, it will fall away and no longer cause you anguish, although it may bring on other repercussions and consequences. It is the resistance that is creating the pain of the poem. Well written, vivid and touching work.

I don't know if I agree or not. Depends on whether you "by him known," is Rufuz or some higher power.
You will probably get a straighter answer from Rufuz.
Happy and Healthy New Year to You and Your Loved ones, Ed.
May we all be so prolific, we get famous. Yeah-Right!
