Crazy dreams of late...

Poem Artwork

Such dreams I have had of late,
They seem to point to our world’s fate,
The end of a world as we know it,
Death & destruction, the end of times, not great...

A world of the future, though no technology,
No cars, transportation by foot or bike,
Billions killed or amongst the missing,
No phones; nor electricity,
No government, nothing anymore decided by committee…

Roaming bands, raping, molesting & pillaging,
Families of their children relinquishing,
Just to stay alive for awhile longer,
Hoping things will change for the better,
All debtors restrained with the fetter…

Many used as slaves,
Living in tents, amongst Nature & in caves,
Many dug will be mass graves,
The burning question will be,
Is God punishing us as we have misbehaved…?

As I read you're describing quite perfectly life in North America in the 1750s. In order to get the jaded public one more adrenaline shot, the drama these days is filled with apocalyptic stories and I am unfortunately, rather hooked on them. Must have my daily dose of adrenaline watching out for the undead.

What I keep trying to point out to everyone is that smart phones, worldwide, have changed news reporting drastically in the last few years, overemphasizing events worldwide to the point where it may seem like things are getting much worse, while it has been reported from the facts that 2013, worldwide, was the best year ever.

I suggest you write down those dream apocalyptic stories so that we can all read your vision and you can become more than just a run-of-the-mill daily poet--a bona fide short story writer that you might even turn into a novel if one is good enough. In 2012, I had enough dream stories to create an entire book.

Many roads lead to this destination, and we
seem to be on all of them. In the words of that

Awww . . . I think God (if he exist) is laughing his ass off for the foolhardy trick he played on us.

A bleak outlook for sure but I often "see" this when I am quite awake. Starkly awakening and thought-provoking verses, Ed. Love, peace, and best wishes,
