First published in 1983 from the book, Country Poet on the Raod Again.
On a cold winters night--freezing
Huddled beings push together,
Through snowbound lanes and walks
As flakes of white--dancing
Upon the very ground beneath.
Briskly--hurried bodys moving
As if in union against the night
Pushing, shoving--faster, faster
To the door of warmth.
winter is my favorite season! love this write; makes me think of wintertime in ohio. sure do miss the cold and snow here in texas! :( (((HUGS))) and love, your friend, karen lynn. :D
The songs and art in this book are about our collective emergence after the pandemic and trauma of the last few years - comprised of 5 collections: World as Refuge, Where We Live, In Our Hands, Rhythms of Change and What We See & Sow.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
