A memorial
‘Slaughter of the Innocents’ Into the voids of darkness Where all light is consumed, With all love of humanity cast aside As their hearts sink into the abyss Yet as we are besieged and tormented Our hopes buried in grief, As we kneel before the savage storm And bend with the searing wind We will proclaim their failure As we see the enduring love A testimony for humanity, Inscribed in the hearts of the innocents By Mary Cecil Dedicated to the memory of the victims Of the Boston Marathon
