A poem of love & loss

'Beside the Ocean'

I want my heart to beat forever,
The dance of life to never end
A house beside the ocean,
And watch the waves rush in

To see the reflection of sunset,
Through the misty glass
And ponder the places I've been,
The people I've known

And when the wind flutters the curtains,
In those ocean nights
I can pretend you are there,
Somewhere else

There in the quiet surroundings,
Perhaps I'll hear laughter
And there's a table,
Waiting for us

And in the morning,
When the birds are singing
I'll wait for you,
At the end of the harbour

Just as the tide turns,
I'll see your boat I know so well
Sailing through the sound
To our house, beside the ocean

Bittersweetly nostalgic, nicely done, Mary. Love and best wishes,

How lucky the one who sails those seas and
turns his craft into the harbor where you wait at
your private table for two.

Still Living on my Feet by Tichaona Chinyelu

Still Living on my Feet is the follow up to Tichaona Chinyelu’s first book, In the Whirlwind, which was rooted in a sense of hard-hitting revolutionary black love. However, in this sophomore effort, Tichaona brings the revolutionary essence from deep
