A lament.

You can't see those scars,

That lie across my heart

So deep the wounds,

Wrapped in abandoned time

You can't feel my tears,

Or see the dreams I dreamt

Hear the songs that played,

Know the rivers that ran

You won't remember me,

Or feel the love again

The days and nights,

That slipped away

You'll never hear the silence,

That remembers you

The sweetness of it all,

That flows so deep,

For you

This is so true for many of us who want and need love and attention from a loved one. Sadly, this is why many trip out and drink to get s---t faced. I would rather feel the pain and write-it-off. Just like you just did! Loved the your poem Mary. Well done1
