A poem for this time.

'Changing Times,Changing Lives'

The sheltering winds that rise,

To scatter the murmurs of constancy

The expectations of unending certainty,

That surge of time's evolution

The essential change ,

When we hover on the abyss of oblivion

The delusion of controls,

On our changing world

As trees bend,

To strengthen their roots

Before the storms,

The tsunamis of earthquakes

Comes the moment ,

When resolve is born

To embrace the tumult,

And see the waves flow

The challenge of adaptation

The triumph of the spirit to adversity

To climb the battlements of despair

And unify our dreams

As long as we keep our dreams unified and intact, we can make it through anything Mary. Thank you for sharing your talented pen.

Well penned, Mary! Most will be able to relate...

As for what's really happening, many doctors now admit that even if we did not stay home even the highest peaks of this curve would have been manageable. In other words, they are saying that all we were trying to do was prevent was an over-load of our health system in the midst of an epidemic. Sure, it sounded bad when deaths were reported day-by-day and minute-by-minute but it was nothing that our present health system could handle. If that's true then we just improved our readiness for a bigger epidemic in the future. That's very good but was all this world-wide panic truly necessary? If it was NOT really necessary, then we have nothing to fear but fear itself!

Hopefully there will not be too much despair and death. But those are parts of life and what you are writing about is mostly adaptation to prevent the inevitable death from happening too soon. Beautifully written and wonderfully understood.
