Purple horizons behind
Amber horizons ahead
Cascading autumn colors between, in the cool fall dusk

Caught between blinding day and dark night
The journey takes place
Through a beautiful mountain road

Could be a familiar ride
Or a brand new adventure
Watched by a pale full moon

The man in the moon
Does seem to wink
When he knows you're admiring his harvest beauty

Hiding in the hills
Wishing to catch sight
As the mountain road takes him out of sight

Torn where to look; moon or dusk
Dark chasing light
Or light chasing night

Always different
Always the same
One more night and you could do it again

Because you've been
Spotted by the sun
And blinded by the moon
