Part 1 of a school project
The youngest of five children
Our home was never barren
Of senseless noise and clutter
And a state of chaos never mastered
My birth was not expected
But my parents never lamented
The new addition to our family
Even if they worked more wearily
Our large family was cozy
Even when things weren’t rosy
There was only so much room
For five children in our home
Far from their youthful days
And out of the wedding daze
My parents worked to keep us fed
How time must have fled
