At the young age of
Twenty-two, I left my home
And all that I knew
Starting life anew
In a new city and state
My new life began
With fear and other
Trepidations, changes came
Some good and some bad
I prevailed through love,
Friendship, time, patience and a
Little bit of luck
Floating high on life
I could not have known how far
I had yet to go
