Poets try to capture it in words
Artists try to display it in paints
Musicians try to play it in song
It will always try to evade us
We live our short lives in search of it
It controls the direction of fate
Priests will deny its call to action
Lovers embrace its heated embers
Children rarely know its whole vastness
Our whole begins to revolve with it
Time occasionally stops for it
Death’s hand pardoned it to be with us
Lore and myths of old have preached of it
And time has proven it will last on
Starts in a flash, gone in a moment
People will ponder what I speak of
Words will fly of love, death, peace and war
While some may guess my meaning
I will never tell of which I speak
For the mystery is eternal
