But his heart he took with him.

No more knocks will be from him,

For he has gone , no more tomorrows.

Why did the words of love fail?

His romance died on the vine.

A fire that once was warm

Is now but ashes on the ground.

This is a Lovely Metaphor George...
rather than feeding himself empty dreams
he can now open himself to new love
as new life can come from emotional ashes
& even from empty dreams!

george i love your wording ...the way you left it to us to figure out...was this from 'his' or 'her' perspective...

either way...jerry's right it wasn't love....could possibly have been a onenightstand tho

Ah, it wasn't love, George, it was lust wrapped prettily in a false cocoon of love.
