Can one escape words that haunt you?

Words that have a life of their own.

They dwell in the confines of your mind

Where they linger night and day.

Better to expose them for what they are.

So that the light of day will give you peace.

Once they see the light they lose their power,

And you are free of them, to haunt you no more.

Sticks and stones may break my bones,
but words sometimes are more hurtful,
so thank you for sage advice *George*

We are in control of one thing, our-self
We have the control to let things go that
cause personal anguish. Once you face it
throw it away never to look at again and
look forward you are free.

Good write George

Amen! Your words are subtle.. but the message is powerful: When the light pierces the darkness.. whoosh! all darkness evaporates within It!

Nicely done, King!

Yes, George I know what you are saying...but we need
to learn not to let them dwell in our brain. Enjoyable.

The last time I exposed the words on my mind, the sex police shunned me (reviews of my story, Nympho Stalker). But I know they [you] secretly loved it for the read count keeps climbing.

You are absolutely right, George. I'm free of those thoughts now. Unless it becomes a best seller like Shades of Grey, when I'll try to think of some more to meet the demand.

Naw, words don't haunt me, I have at 'em with my trusty old keyboard until they have been rendered helpless in the body of some poem.
