Where are the sailors that went to sea

And never reached their destiny?

And where are those that grieved their loss,

Waiting, always waiting each horizon new?

The sea keeps many secrets buried,

But we know where each body lies.

For storms have taken the best of men,

And the ships that they had sailed within.

George, your metaphor gives hope, strengthens our convictions and lifts our spirits - the sea, a challenge, a friend, a foe and still we ply the waves in fragile little ships - I wish you love and peace my dear friend - Jon Michael

Ahh so true George as the sea can swallow up
many good men and the sea can be perilous
but they are cradled below and when we face
the sea we can say a prayer for those men lost

Davy Jones locker keeps its secrets dear. More have been lost at sea than all the wars combined. But still we sail on, trying to reach the distant shore. Great metaphor for life.

When I saw the movie 'Perfect Storm' and read the statistics at the end of the movie stating how many boats never returned, I was saddened deeply~

I sailed many ships when I was younger in the North Atlantic all the way up to the North Pole and alternated between loving it and hating it. The sea can be unforgiving when it claims it's tolls and yes the ones left behind pay the ultimate price.
Great Write...
