Milking the sadness life can bring

So that it may not become rancid.

We hone out thoughts to razors edge

Only to cut a string that's too long.

Maybe the life we envision is a cloud

That changes as the sun breaks through.

Warming the dreamers, the cold of heart too,

With the rays of hope each can secure.

Maybe the tomorrow dreamers dream

Is really a myth of sages long ago.

And maybe the reality is life alone,

For us to paint on a canvas of love.

I thought of cave drawings and the thoughts of those men. Now we have the ether of the Internet to cast our images into space and time.

We can paint whatever we wish, whether it be
of sages long ago or from our loving hearts George :)

You do it very well here in all your thoughts...
"And maybe the reality is life alone,
For us to paint on a canvas of love."

:) Our own canvas... beautiful eh?

Haiku of a Wayward Sailor” encompasses both haiku and poems. Many of the haiku are based on my experiences at sea.
