Call a friend today Surprise him. Give him a lift If he's down. Just the thought Can cheer some one up. That you called them Can bring a moment of happiness. We never know Nor might he say. But I'll bet ya He'll have a better day. So pick up the phone And surprise someone. You'll feel better also And not so lonesome.

You're absolutely right. Like I wrote in my poem, Reconnecting, getting touch with old friends can be quite a lift for both of us. I just wrote a reference letter for a colleague that I thought I would never reconnect with again. Hopefully, it will help him/her get a job.
