Cold is the evening

As I sit alone.

My thoughts alive

As if I was born.

A silent cry

A few tears to drop.

Feelings have gone

Or so it seems.

Pity the silence

In an empty space.

Once occupied

No longer a trace.

Wishing the boredom

Be cast away.

Where is the excitement

When we used to play?

Memories I have yet

Of days long gone.

See all the faces

And hear the old songs.

The silence is outward

And not within.

For the songs are alive

That we sang back then.
