I was looking at the horizon

When a new day was born

One of those rare mornings

When my thoughts were not torn.

I saw the nothingness of space

Where brave men explore.

Rockets to the heavens.

Who could ask for any more?

New pages will be written,

New names engraved.

History will acknowledge,

The heroes who engaged.

But soon on earth it's forgotten.

In passage of time they are lost.

Who can remember their exploits,

Or the lives that it cost.

In one's mind eye, remembering heroes big
or small, open horizons for our betterment

As long as we continue to teach the history
since we are the ones who remember, it's up to
us to keep it alive... Educate the children, read
and let them use their vision to see what we've done
before that socialist got into office..

Well done George

Mornings are the most precious part of any day. The air is clear of hum drum and everything seems to be in place.........for that moment.

Love ya!

I experience this on many mornings - before the hustle and bustle of the day, I think this is when one can truly "see" and "feel" what is important - an ethereal oneness that, as you so beautifully put it here, is forgotten soon on earth.
