The day was full of wonders

As I looked at the sky.

Saw all the life above

As many birds flew by.

Jets with their life enclosed

Fly by every day, many times.

Life being carried to distant lands

As love tags along with its surprise.

Looking down from above

Is a thrill in itself and a wonder.

Seeing life way below going on,

Is like being on a magic carpet.

I need no genie or carpet

As my dreams carry me far.

My thoughts excel actuality

But it's fun just the same.

I'm glad you were talking about flying in an airplane or like a bird. For a moment there I thought you were doing an Ed Matlack thing. ;-)

Ah how I love to fly...
There is nothing more lovely than to look down
upon the quilt of our earth and the many wonders
from above... "carried to distant lands"

And all the other surprises you may encounter...

:)

Yes, yes... "it is a thrill in itself and a wonder
seeing life way below going on".....
and it's a thrill to see Americans get together with
so much love...Neil Diamond's surprise performance
and Sweet Caroline...healing moment for Boston
and all of us. Awesome!

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
