The Dam

The dam has sprung a leak,

That will widen in time.

Expect a calamity as it bursts,

And floods all below.

 

Too late, if you are ill perpared.

As you will be swept away.

No one will shed a tear.

No one will be left to cry.

 

Just an empty basin-

Once a town filled with life.

All will be lost by its power.

Nary a soul will be found.

Sounds like some Midwestern towns this week. A warning not to build on a creek bed. Some day it may become a raging torrent.Then again, there are many dams out there in need of repair. A metaphor for our time.
