If you or I get beat up by a bunch crooks we don't go home and go to our banks to give them all the cash we can to bribe them to leave us alone. After all they are crooks!!! How stupid can we be???
Like autocratic communism, theocratic state Muslim-ism, has taken over much of the Middle East, largely through extortion and force. The global village created by the Internet has caused the people of the region to realize that the world is much more than strong religious control, however old or venerated it may seem. The result are clashes very similar to the thrust for civil rights in this country, violent at first and still going on with gay-rights, disabled rights, and women's rights to this day, now a peaceful institution.
The Middle East is going through this process and the right (not the conservative right, but what is right) will win out in the end. We just have to let it play out like we did with communism in the Soviet Union and China. Libya will be fine. We just have to let the people play it out. They will not accept a dictator again.
We must confront them when they are wrong, but not necessarily meddle in their affairs. For the truth will rise to the top, and very soon all those countries will join the rest of the world in peace and prosperity without beating them up.
