A crowd awaited his arrival

For he captivated young and old.

Joy was the order of the day,

As our President would pass this way.

As his motorcade rolled along,

In the shadows evil was cooked.

Suddenly a shot rang out loud.

The Presidents head blown apart.

Much has been said since that time.

Theories abound to this day.

Oswald never got to tell his story,

He died along with his victim.

Was this a diabolical scheme?

Today there are still opinions.

Lost was our President, unfulfilled

Was his destiny, and a world mourned.

I was in the 3rd grade on that horrible day, the teacher got
a phone call in the classroom... she broke down in tears and we all we dismissed from school... Young and old alike mourned that day...

Wonderful tribute to a fine man who is now gone but not gone in our hearts...

Yes, it was a great waste of a great leader with all too human, faults, but a good heart and a great mind. A mind blown apart by a sad ideologue with no life except to cause pain and hardship on those he touched.

I'm certainly grateful that Johnson was able to push through Congress some of the Kennedy reforms that this country so desperately needed at that time. I'm sad that the space race, now that the Russians are sharing launches with us, no longer commands the kind of financial commitment that we need to pull ourselves out of the depression we are in as a people.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
