It was a great Spring day
When I decided to take a nap.
It was under an old oak tree
Near a running stream close by.
My long white beard,
Much like Santa's own,
I tucked beneath my vest
And soon dream land came.
A noise awakened me,
As I jumped up to look around.
Snow was all over the ground,
Could I have slept that long?
Reindeers were running by
And soon stopped to gaze at me.
This must be a dream so real,
But by gosh those deer were alive.
I never told this tale before
As who would believe it.
It was hard for me, but it happened
On that lazy Spring afternoon.
