The passive mode of life Is to let the stream flow by. The fish will remain happy, If you have not baited the hook. Much of life is created as an illusion, Peppered with words meant to confuse. They will sound so meaningful From orators deft in deceit. The fish are happy if undisturbed, But put some bait on the hook, And they are soon reeled in. Words cleverly crafted do the same.

so true ... and some fishermen have live bait on their hooks while other use a cheap, plastic fly to lure in their catch ... both achieve the desired effect, making a catch ... most fish don't know the difference, they are attracted to the glitter and the"meat" or substance is secondary or not important at all ...

A wise observation. Those without critical thinking are more easily hooked by the silver tongued devil with tasty treats to sample.
