Contemplating tomorrow, With thoughts of Spring. Watching the shadows That night time can bring. The sky has darkened, As night time begins. Left with but memories, To think of again. They seem to linger, And never fade away. A love of yesterday, That is with me to stay. There in the shadows, I see only one. Gone are the tomorrows That we could have won.

We do gradually give up plans and dreams, especially with a loved one no longer with us. Such is the nature of life that you have so beautifully portrayed in this poem.
