Not Of Human Origin

A monument stands before me

Built by unknown hands.

Scant is the matter of its being,

Not work from desert sands.

 

It is not of human origin,

Nor a reflection of lost time.

It merely exists in itself-

 A creature not devine.

Your poem has created a mystery as to just what this monument is. I do have a monument each morning that I contemplate for what it's worth. Once satisfied, it conveniently disappears.
