I have a blank canvas,

No idea what to paint.

I'll just mix up my colors,

Making sure of blues and yellows.

I like a bright subject,

Something that catches the eye.

Not a dark and sinister picture.

That is for those who know how to paint.

I'll just dip the brush,

And let the paint flow free.

Start with yellow and blend some red;

A touch of blue sets my mood.

Back and forth up and down-

A maze of colors,  married on canvas.

I'll never be a painter, not I,

But what I paint, catches my eye.
