Having reached the top

It is time to descend.

Above the clouds, thoughts,

Which were better left behind.

Caught in a fogs grip,

Blinding further movement.

Yet a mind wanders,

Seeing yesterdays fun.

It seems we can't escape

A mind ill at ease.

It is always rehashing

Problems that won't fade away.

 Some can never erase or

Bury the hurt that was done.

Life can be a challenge,

When misery is left in its wake.

I have been deeply hurt, dumped by the man I love
with all my heart with no explanation as to why...
There isn't a place I can go now... no place where
we have been together... the hurt cannot be buried
everything is a constant reminder...

I took him to all my favorite places where if I set
foot there now all I do is cry in pain and hurt...
My misery was left in its wake...

This one touched me...

... meaningful poem. Yes George...we stop for a moment and look back...there are memory...some making human's inner-eye glow with pride..."other" difficult to escape and cringing humans mind. Edit Piaf, once insisted...Non je ne regrette rien...but most of people have "them"...and there comes a point...too...where regret turns to guilt...How to move on?...be the judge...

and there is no misery quite as painful...
as an impoverished soul.
Well said, George.
