The imprint of thoughts

Lays heavy on my mind.

Recollection frees them,

As I write what I find.

There's no duplication.

Each is independent,

Seeking release as I choose,

In a story of a life spent.

No transgressions intended,

To the implied content.

Just a summation contained

In the boundaries of memories.

There they are, free as a bird.

No longer held captive in time.

Their footprints removed,

No longer do they pine.

After so many poems, I'm surprised that you don't repeat. When I'm thinking of a poem, I often have to check back through to be sure I'm not repeating the same title over again for one that I did several years earlier. It's amazing how my thoughts often go back to earlier poems' themes that I don't remember that I wrote.

I agree. Writing somehow does free thoughts from our mind if they are the ones we want freed. Very nice.

Love ya!

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
