Growing old has its advantages,
In as much as haste need not be taken.
Mistakes, and I've made a few,
Seem to not come with an eraser.
What is done is done, they say.
Feelings ruffled and confused.
What was meant to be works out that way.
Life paddles along but at a different stroke .
The waves will seek the shore,
In an unceasing resounding roar.
Months seek their end of days,
Flipping another page in life.
Poets know their limitations,
And age knows it also.
Friendships come and go,
As do ships that pass in the night.
