Wisdom has its drawbacks,
As at times we outsmart ourselves.
I have seen the very clever
Make an ass of themselves.
Oh yes I have been there also,
But never was too clever.
Just a kind of fool at times,
So I can't say never, never.
Laugh at yourself, if you can.
It will brighten your day.
For even a fool can laugh,
When he knows not what to say.

It sure pays to have a good sense of humor when you're offhand comment comes back as some kind of an insult and be able to roll with it. It's happened to me many times. If you're curious you're bound to get in trouble.
