As I was about to speak,

A thought escaped from me.

I was left dazed and dumbfounded,

The audience whispering.

A few deafening

Moments passed,

Before I regained

My speaking ability.

This is the fear

Many speakers have.

But most can overcome it

By a new train of thought.

And, sure how have good notes or speaking points jog your memory… Looking down at them for you look up an attempt to speak. I know the feeling of having lost what I was going to say.

On the other hand, we have found the dumb, and it is us. ;-)

Very cool poem George. Yes, its all too common that speakers forget what they want to say. That's why some use Teleprompters like the Pres. or they stumble and are lost for words. Amen

Is that how it's done, i've often wondered about how to do that?
