I baited the hook And just waited. Maybe minutes Or hours will pass. Now and then I will crank the hook Back up to check If there was still bait. Some fish can hit And you never know it; Stealing your bait While avoiding the hook.

I can do that as if I am invited to dinner, I know how to steal a bite without getting caught, esepcially if the bit is of a yummy cake...-e-

Ahhh . . . There is another meaning concerning your last stanza, or even your whole poem. It's called "scoring" and running.
