Awakened much to early As the sun has not risen yet. Short a few more hours of sleep That I hope I shall regain. O let the pretty blue birds sing An old and cheerful song. For lullabyes I've long forgot And need a cheerful tune.

I miss bluebirds. I hear they're on the decline. Blue jays are a poor substitute. I think I'll pick up that sleep you missed now.

I've noticed that when I wake up too early, the birds beginning to chirp puts me back to sleep. I hope you did. Sweet poem!
