Sometimes thoughts escape me,

And try as I may, they remain lost.

They seemed to cry for an answer

At the time, had I but paid attention.

They will join the many gone,

But at some time and place,

I feel they will return disguised,

And I will listen to them then.

Many times, as i'm getting ready to go to sleep, a thought will enter my mind. If I don't get up and write it down, It will be gone come morning. If i think I can remember it, I'm wrong.

When my thoughts escape me, they always return at the wrong time. I think that's another one of Parkinson's laws. More like Alzheimer's rather than Parkinson's.

I know that I will catch that thought in a later poem by you.

Ahhh . . . The saga of the lost thoughts is a quandary I find myself in routinely . . .
