I felt a touch on my shoulder
But when I turned, no one was there.
I continued my walk and felt another tap,
Again no one was there.
I arrived home safe and sound,
But pondered those mysterious taps.
Since there was no visible evidence,
It was better that I not dwell it.
For weeks those taps were on my mind.
Was I just imagining what tapped my shoulder?
I could not mention it to anyone,
Less they think I was a bit off my head
At first I thought you were writing about Taps. Whenever my father wanted to play Taps at family get-togethers on his CCC camp bugle (I still have it), my grandmother would tell him not to, remembering the horrors of World Wars I and II.
