The day is so beautiful I wonder why am I inside? Stepped out for a moment And the sun took my sight away. It is days like this I'm glad I own a home and can enjoy Many such days out in the sun; In a home Levitt built for us GI's. On what was once nothing but Potato fields, stands now, a home to love. Built by a forward thinking man Who had us ex GI's in mind.

This is interesting! I live in a "tract" house. After WWII, the city of Mentor bought a tract of land from Morton Salt, which is a stone throws from my house. On this tract of land are hundreds of little square houses that look the same except for what owners do to their little "tract" home. I wonder if it's anything similar to your "Levitt" home?

Yes he did have you "GI's in mind," George. I lived on the Island, in Lynbrook. Where I lived wasn't built by Levitt, but of course I knew about him.
